What We Believe

Bible

We believe the Bible (both Old & New Testaments) to be the inspired word of God, presenting to us the complete revelation of His will for the redemption of mankind.  2 Timothy 3:16,   2 Peter 1:21

Salvation

We believe salvation is only made possible through Jesus’ death on the cross and His resurrection from the grave, and that we are saved through faith by grace.  John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8-9

We believe that one who dies without Christ is eternally lost and destined to a literal hell with no further opportunity for repentance.  Hebrews 9:27, Revelation 19:20

The Church

We believe the community of all born-again believers makes up the church.  The church being the body of Christ with Jesus as the Head.  Colossians 1:18, Ephesians 2:19-22

We believe God calls men and woman to serve in the five-fold ministry and specifically equips the one called with talents and abilities for that particular office in order to equip saints the work of the ministry.  Ephesians 4:8-13

We believe that each saint is called to take their place in a local body of believers and has been given gifts and talents to fulfill the Great Commission ordained by Jesus Christ.  Romans 12:3-8 Mark 16:15-18

Water Baptism

We believe in water baptism by immersion as a direct commandment of the Lord to all believers.  Matthew 28:19, Romans 6:4, Colossians 2:12

Baptism in the Holy Spirit

We believe the baptism in the Holy Spirit is a gift from God and is available to all believers.  This baptism in the Holy Spirit is a second work of grace received after salvation, the initial sign of which is speaking in tongues as the spirit gives utterance. John 14:16-17, Acts 1:8, 2:4

Lord’s Supper

We believe in the ordinance of the Lord’s Supper.  1 Corinthians 11:27

Sanctification

We believe sanctification is an on-going work of grace in the life of the believer.   2 Corinthians 3:18, 2 Peter 3:18, 1 Thessalonians 5:23, Hebrews 12:14

Divine Healing

We believe in the healing of the body by Divine Power, that divine healing is part of the atonement and can be appropriated by faith in Jesus’ redeeming work.  Acts 10:38, 1 Peter 2:24

Tithe

We believe in tithing as having existed before, during and after the Law.  Tithing is representative of our personal commitment to the Lord and is a reflection of our covenant with Him.  Genesis 14:18-20, Malachi 3:10, Matthew 23:23, Hebrews 7:8

Sanctity of Human Life

We believe in the sanctity of human life, that God determines the boundaries of life and holds in His hands the two fragile ends of human experience.   He is active in the conception of life and the conclusion of life, in birth and in death.  This truth imparts extraordinary value to every life, independent of gender, race, socioeconomic position, age, or health status.  Those who hold to biblical creation must attach great worth to human life and will stand in its defense.  Genesis 1:27; Psalm 139:13, 15; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Sanctity of Marriage

We believe in the sanctity of marriage as established by the Holy Scriptures, that God created marriage, and that the only legitimate marriage is the joining of one man and one woman.  Genesis 2:24; Romans 7:2-3; 1 Corinthians 7:10-11; Ephesians 5:22-33

Resurrection of the Saints

We believe in the resurrection of the saints, the eternal judgment of the wicked and the bodily return of Jesus Christ to the earth.  1 Corinthians 15:51-52, Hebrews 6:1-2, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
